Tunic Tops – For all occasions

One of the main assets of tunics is their versatility and thus their ability to be worn as a part of many outfits on a variety of occasions. The main categories of the modern tunic are tunic tops and tunic dresses and the styles of both seem endless in their variety. If a tunic is worn correctly then it has the ability to accentuate the bust, slim the figure and lengthen the frame.

With the popularity of leggings ever increasing, there is huge potential to wear a pair of leggings together with a long tunic top for a comfortable and stylish look. If you are not a fan of leggings then a similar look can be achieved with a pair of skinny jeans, which are certainly not diminishing in terms of popularity or availability in all of the top retailers. Considering the vast majority of leggings and jeans often feature dark blocks of colour a patterned tunic top is a great way to add colour and vibrancy to your look.

Many of the tunic tops available today are made from quite lightweight material such as silk or cotton, which means that these tops generously lend themselves to acting as beach cover ups and can be slipped on over a swimsuit when you are on the beach or around the pool either on holiday or during the warmer months or weeks in the UK.

For a night on the town a tunic dress or longer belted tunic top or mini skirt can be worn with bare legs or tights for a more glamorous look and teamed with a pair of high heels and some statement jewellery this look will surely get tongues wagging, in the best possible way

Emanuela – the face of Next. With inspiration taken from New York’s fashion scene and pop culture heritage, street art and cafe culture bringing together a complex mix of styles together.

Hound tooth checks are bold, bright colours like electric blue bring a touch of the bold to your look. Teamed up with stunning zebra print shoes. Bold neon colours bring a touch of that 80’s feel and the paint splattered dresses with graffiti patterns bring a real rebellious feel to the look.

Next offer a wide variety of accessories and fantastic clothing this Autumn.

A varied pattern range brings bold checks and bright colours together with some very funky styling thrown in on tunic style dresses and a bit of a hippy look. Fantastic boots and bags made from top quality leather for a hard wearing quality that means you can wear them all season long!

Next also have some soft styles with soft grey jackets with black trimming with look very cute with jeans, but you could team them up with a smarter skirt for an instant office look! Dress down with the funkiest boots and bags that will relax the smart styling of your office wear, or dress up jeans with glamorous tops.

Neon styling with bright tights contrasted with bold coloured heels gives you an ultra fresh look with a touch of punk almost. The cut of the dress is soft with the three quarter length sleeves giving you an easy to wear dress. Accessories include the brightest watches and bold bangles.

Their formal jacket range includes a beautiful cut jacket with bold shoulder and pointed front styling. The beauty of these jackets is that you can team them up with all sorts of clothing and create a different look altogether. Team with a snazzy blue sparkly dress and you’ve got a stunningly smart party outfit, or wear with trousers or a skirt for excellent work wear and then throw on a scarf to smarten up for a night on the town!

The Slanket
The slanket isn’t new news, it’s been around in the UK for close to a year now closely followed by the kids slanket.  Both were a very big hit over Christmas 2008 in fact stock was very hard to get hold of at the time due to the overwhelming demand.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of the slanket let me explain. Take a standard large dressing gown and make it longer in the arms and length then add additional material around the neck area and you have a slanket. The perfect item to keep you warm in the cold weather or just to lounge around the house in when you can’t be bothered to get dressed.
Travel Slanket
Now part way into 2009 the slanket has released a new addition to the family the travel slanket.  Adopting the same concept, by being a blanket with sleeves the travel slanket is a smaller more compact version perfect for taking on your holidays.
Perfect for those long plane journeys the travel slanket comes complete with it’s own bag, the travel slanket would make an idea gift or present.  With some airlines starting to charge for blankets on flights now is a perfect time to buy one as you can take it home and use it again and again, and also it will fit easily into your hand luggage.
Either way there is now a slanket available for all occasions, I wonder what variation the makers will think of next.
The travel slanket is available from the same online retailers as the slanket and kids slanket and priced around the £20 mark.
